Over the past 15 years, I’ve helped both emerging artists and established names create art that they love.
I’d love to help you too.
Bio’s are a strange thing. I don’t really like talking or writing about myself. I’m here to help you with your music, not here to big up why you should work with me. Saying that, some people like to know a bit about someone they’re going to be working with, so if you’re that type of person, this is for you:
I am originally from London, England but have very recently moved to Auckland, New Zealand. I’ve been playing music since a young age and have been in bands and the music industry in general since I was around 16. Like a lot of people, I started as an artist myself, originally in bands and over the years some solo ventures too. When I was younger, I was lucky enough to record in some nice studios, work with some very talented producers and writers, and perform at some great venues and festivals. From time to time, I still make music with some good friends in a project called Port Louix, which isn’t very active but a lot of fun when we do work together.
From the get go I was always really into sound and tone as much as I was the music itself. I play a few instruments, but I’m a guitarist primarily and loved messing around with amp settings and pedals. After a while, this love of messing around naturally found it's way into the recording and production side of things. Now I'm no longer tied to just a guitar, I can throw a delay on a drum kit if I want and see if it sounds good (it often does, but is rarely the right choice for the song).
I like to experiment a lot and I like to leave room for happy accidents. I’m not the sort of person who likes things perfect all the time, I enjoy the contrast between clean, polished elements and dirty, rough elements. To me, this feels more human.
I work with artists to help them develop, sometimes that's through my experience in writing and performing, sometimes that's just by adding some character to the sound and sometimes, it's both. I primarily work in indie, alternative and pop, but I will happily work on anything that I resonate with and think I’ll be able to help elevate.
